Hello there. My name’s Sage. This blog is about living an independent life and doing what makes me happy. I’m interested in how to make a living doing what I want and doing what makes me happy. I want to live a life outside the constraints of a traditional, socially-ordained role. I hope to relay my experiences to you, the reader, so that you too can live an independent and fulfilling life that makes you happy.
My Story About Living
I’ve worked for public and private institutions for many years. I’ve found enjoyment and satisfaction with my work experiences but also experienced many drawbacks. These drawbacks have included the following:
- Long commutes.
- Working with people I don’t necessarily like or get along with, or that don’t like or get along with me (a form of the law of averages at work I presume).
- Working for someone else who I might not necessarily agree with and whose bidding I have to do in order to get what I want (a paycheck).
What You Can Expect From This Blog
I’ll be using this blog to chronicle my experiments with living my independent life. My goal is to show you all the ways I try to make an independent, self-sustaining life. You’ll see what works for me and what doesn’t work for me. Posts are on a variety of topics but all related to the central theme of attaining an independent life of freedom. I don’t claim to be an expert in this field and I’m learning as I go, but hopefully you can learn along with me. I’d also be very interested to hear your personal experiences on this topic, so please leave me comments.
I’m writing this blog primarily for my own amusement, but also to meet like-minded individuals. If nothing else, hopefully I’ll inspire others who are tired of drudgery to conduct their own experiments in independent living.
